A place for reflection
The memorial hall occupies the preserved base of Nonneseter monastery’s tower. It was consecrated in 1952 in memory of the victims of the Second World War. Bergen’s medieval history meets the memory of wartime loss here.
The ceremony offers time for reflection on Constitution Day. The honour guard and music provide a dignified setting for remembering those who died.
Getting there
The hall is near Bergen Public Library. The marker shows the monastery area; meet at the tower base. Find the ceremony on the interactive map.
