A Bergen tradition

Fireworks have deep roots in the city’s celebrations. As early as 1847, fireworks were launched from a boat on Store Lungegårdsvann during the public Constitution Day festivities. Today’s display continues this festive finale, now at Lille Lungegårdsvann.

Watch safely

Follow the stewards’ instructions and respect barriers around the launch area. Keep away from the water’s edge and keep children with adults in the crowd. Fireworks produce bright flashes and loud bangs; consider hearing protection for small children and a quieter viewing point for anyone sensitive to noise. Weather and safety conditions may affect the display.
