Service to Norway

The Veterans’ Monument at Koengen honours Norwegian veterans of international operations and remembers those who did not return. The ceremony also offers time to reflect on relatives and bereaved families.

A gathering place at Bergenhus

The Norwegian Veterans Association dates the Koengen/Bergenhus monument to 2005. Its location beside the fortress museum connects the ceremony with Bergen’s long military history.

On Constitution Day, the chairman of the association’s local branch conducts the wreath laying, recognising veterans’ service to Norway.
