Remembering Bergen’s firefighters
The plaque in the old main fire station’s courtyard commemorates Bergen firefighters who fell during the Second World War. The ceremony offers time to remember their service and loss on a day dedicated to freedom and community.
A place filled with fire-service history
The red station building was completed in 1888. Together with Hagerupsgården, it tells the story of Bergen’s fire service from 1863 to 2007.
Bergen Brandkorps Historielag now preserves fire engines, vehicles, equipment and stories here. The plaque recalls the people behind the service and the lives sometimes lost protecting the city.
Details of the wreath layer and access to the courtyard during the ceremony will be published when confirmed.
