The Constitution in the city
The Constitution monument at Kong Christian Frederiks plass was erected for the Constitution’s bicentenary in 2014. Its inscription refers to the Constitution of 17 May 1814 and support from CG Rieber Fondene and Bergen’s 17 May Committee.
The wreath laying by BI students recalls the foundations of Constitution Day: the Constitution, democracy and civic participation. It takes place at Marineholmen, on the square named for the king elected by the Constituent Assembly in 1814.
