Final meeting point for 2027 to follow
Byfjordsparaden makes boating part of Bergen’s great Constitution Day celebration. Decorate your boat in red, white and blue, bring a festive spirit and enjoy the sense of community on the water.
While processions fill the streets, the boat parade adds a maritime dimension to the celebration. For spectators on land, the boats bring movement to the cityscape; for participants, the fjord is the celebration’s stage.
The Committee’s 2026 account describes the Byfjord boat parades during the pandemic as a great success. The celebration on the water continued, bringing boats together to mark Constitution Day.
Find information for 2027 here in a readable format, easy to use on mobile or at home before your trip.
Detailed participation information for 2027 will appear here. We will add the meeting point, parade leader and any registration requirements once decided.
Flags and Constitution Day decorations are part of the celebration. Secure decorations well and keep visibility, movement aboard and essential equipment clear.
Consider weather and sea conditions, wear a lifejacket and keep a safe distance. Follow current navigation rules and the organiser’s updated instructions.
Speed, formation, VHF channel and any arrangements for joining along the way must be confirmed for 2027. Information from 2026 is historical background.
Do not assume that joining the parade grants access to Vågen or a berth. Follow this year’s harbour restrictions and account for other activity.
The poster listed KV Tor as the lead vessel, a maximum speed of 5 knots, up to two larger or four smaller boats abreast, and VHF channel 67. Boats joining later did so at the rear. These are not confirmed instructions for 2027.
